Sandy Springs has put out a call for artists and designers to submit their ideas for the official Blue Stone Arts and Music Festival poster with a deadline of July 25.

The festival returns to Sandy Springs Sept. 26 and 27 with two music stages, an Artist Market with more than 80 artists and makers, a Kids Zone, Sports Zone, food and drink, and a 5K-9 road race for people and pups, according to a City of Sandy Springs news release.

Musical acts take the stage each evening. The city anticipates more than 15,000 attendees, according to the release.

The poster competition is new to the festival, now in its third year. The release said the poster will represent the spirit of Blue Stone. Emerging and established creators are invited to submit their visions.

The city welcomes proposals from individuals across a wide range of disciplines. Painters, multimedia artists, visual artists, and others are invited to make a submission. The release said the city wants a thoughtful, community-centered perspective to their work, with inspiration from Sandy Springs’ unique character and stories. Artists making submissions may not have traditional art-world credentials, but must have a clear artistic voice.

The Blue Stone Arts and Music Festival will take place on Friday, Sept. 26, from 4 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
