The Atlanta Shakespeare Company (ASC) has announced the show lineup that will be featured in its upcoming 2025-2026 season lineup at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse.
The brand new season kicks off in September with The Taming of the Shrew, a high-energy Shakespearean comedy featuring an all-female cast.
Taking place Sept. 13-28 (with special previews Sept. 11-12), The Taming of the Shrew tells the story of the “wild and unwed” Katherine, who engages in a “battle of the sexes” when she is paired with a boisterous bachelor.
Following Taming, the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse will be showcasing another pair of shows based on the classic work of Shakespeare, with Macbeth playing Oct 4 to Nov. 2 and Hamlet running Nov. 8-30.
In time for the holidays, ASC will close out 2025 with its annual performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the classic tale that sees the greedy Ebenezer Scrooge being visited by three ghosts, helping him to change his cold-hearted ways on one fateful Xmas Eve.
The new year starts off with a bang with Shakespeare Out of a Hat Weekend (Jan 2-4, 2026), an improv show in which the cast don’t know their roles until two minutes before the play starts, leading to outrageous moments in the process.
Other shows planned for 2026 include Twelfth Night (Jan. 10-25), Romeo and Juliet (Feb. 7 to March 1), Much Ado About Nothing (March 7 to April 4), Timon of Athens (April 11-26) and Emma (May 2-31).
Regular adult tickets range from $25 to $49 depending on the performance, date and seat location.
Discounted tickets are also available for students, educators, military personnel, seniors and groups of 10 or more people.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.shakespearetavern.com.
