Qantas’ New First-Class Cabins for Long-Haul Flights Look Like Small Living Rooms – Pictures
Qantas is preparing for the 2025 launch of its ‘Project Sunrise’ ultra-long-haul flights and has provided a glimpse of the experience in the plane’s front section, where passengers will enjoy features such as privacy doors, a fixed bed, and 18-inch screens.
The preview follows Qantas’ 20-hour test flights from Sydney in 2019 to evaluate the impact on the human body after a full day in the air.
These record-breaking flights from Sydney to New York and London will utilize Airbus A350 aircraft that are specifically designed for ultra-long-haul flights.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce stated, “We have a long-standing history of being at the forefront of opening new long-haul flights, and we’re bringing our expertise in technology and passenger comfort to Project Sunrise flying.”
What Project Sunrise has to offer
The airline’s first-class seats offer several amenities, including a fixed bed, a separate recliner chair, a personal closet, a dining table for two, and a 32-inch ultra-high-definition TV.
The aircraft will have six first-class suites arranged in a 1-1-1 configuration.
Business class seats feature a relaxing taupe and gray, more than a 6-foot-long lie-flat bed, a leather ottoman, an 18-inch touchscreen TV, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and a sliding door for privacy.
The aircraft will offer 52 business-class cabins in a 1-2-1 configuration.
Free Wi-Fi will also be available on board the aircraft, which will be implemented throughout the carrier’s A350 fleet.
Additionally, Qantas stated that the Project Sunrise flights will have 40 premium economy seats and 140 economy seats.
