Amazing sights as man uses bare hands to rescue trapped gold miners

Incredible footage has surfaced showing a man using only his hands to save nine Congolese miners from a collapsed gold mine.

The event was met with relief and applause from the crowd who witnessed the miners emerge from the mine, tumbling down the steep slope.

This video provides a rare happy ending to a common occurrence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where mining accidents are rampant, especially in small, artisanal sites such as the one that collapsed due to heavy rainfall in South Kivu province on Saturday.

The authenticity of the video has been verified by Reuters. In the video, the rescuer is seen using a spade to create an exit point for the miners, but soon switches to using his bare hands to dig relentlessly to save as many people as he can.

The rescuer successfully saves a total of nine miners, while rocks continue to fall from the cliff, endangering his own safety.

The lack of proper safety procedures and equipment are contributing factors to frequent tunnel collapses in Congolese mines, which leave miners trapped underground with little chance of survival.

Despite this, the rescuer’s bravery and dedication saved the lives of nine people, providing a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dire situation.

‘We quickly mobilized people to clear the rubble that was blocking the entrance. It was on the morning of this Saturday… that they managed to save these nine souls,’ local civil society representative Crispin Kayuka said.
